Michelle Dowling Schafer

Michelle Dowling Schafer is a 24-year veteran of institutional investment management.  The first 17 years of her career were spent working with some of the most prestigious & prominent real estate firms in the country, TIAA-CREF, Copley Real Estate Advisors and Southland Financial Corporation.  Between 2004 and 2007 Ms. Schafer was the president of Arroyo Realty Partners, a private real estate investment company that she co-founded and which was based in Los Angeles, California. Within a 16 month period, Arroyo acquired a portfolio of projects in Hawaii and California valued at more than $76 Million on behalf of both private and institutional investors.  Arroyo executed a timely disposition of its holdings in mid-2007 to an institutional investment firm. 

In 2006 she formed Arroyo Pacific Partners with Honolulu-based business partner, Mr. Rob Ewert.  Arroyo Pacific was subsequently renamed Meridian Partners and is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.  She has also co-founded Meridian Green Partners, a sister-company to Meridian Partners, which is based in Los Angeles and is committed to an exclusively-green investment program within Meridian’s target geographic markets.

As co-Managing Principal of Meridian Partners, along with Mr. Ewert, and as President of Meridian Green Partners, Ms Dowling Schafer is responsible for capital raising for all of Meridian’s investment activities, as well as directing the acquisition and asset management strategies for the companies.  Michelle graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University in 1983.

She resides with her husband, David, in Pasadena, California and Honolulu, Hawaii.
